Steve Cook
is the author of several books and investing courses, including
titles like "Ugly House Contractor Agreement", "Real Estate
Investor Business Plan", "Wholesaling for Quick Cash" and
"Rehabbing for Big Cash". His main focus product is his 3-day
Ugly House Boot camp, which would cost you around
$2000.
In his many interviews as well
as on his marketing page, Cook says that when started
investing in real estate, he had no money and a bad credit
history and rating. In his first two years, he bought over 100
houses, and now claims that he is well on his way to financial
independence.
Regarding the content of his material, experts say that he
repeats more or less the same things what all the other
so-called gurus spew out endlessly on the late night television
infomercials.
They agree that his material is decent, but not
comprehensive enough. The business is difficult and
complicated, and getting involved during this phase in the
economy, with the amount of competition there is, needs serious
thought.
Unlike most others of his ilk, there seems to be a positive
consensus among his ex-students, and people who have used his
courses and his books. For his e-booklet, users say that it is
pretty decent for $39.
No surprising revelation or unprecedented knowledge about
business plans, but overall pretty informative, even though
similar material is now available almost everywhere.
People who have taken his boot camps agree that he is no
nonsense, no hype person, and that he tells it like it is.
Steve shares everything with his students, including the bad
and the ugly side of the business.
All gurus tell you how much money you can make, and how much
they have made. Steve, unlike them, will also tell you, from
his own personal experience, what doesn’t or didn’t work and
what didn't work well.
Readers of his books agree that the books are very
inexpensive unlike others on the market. He answers questions
in the books as well as any further queries sent to him, and
has a very informative website.
The book may not look impressive but you do learn a few
things from them that the other courses don’t teach. His audio
CD is good too as it goes over what the business is, its
intricacies and how to do it. His website also has a lot of
free articles that explains his techniques.
In addition, Steve answers questions most days on his
website and these tidbits often help you make a larger profit.
He seems to them to be a man of integrity.
He has been informative, helpful, gracious and humble, and
people have found that he is truly concerned with providing
high value to Members and Guests. He is focused on imparting
the real information and he realizes that the more that is
taught in 60-90 minutes, the more people will want to know
about what is taught in their course or seminar or boot
camp.
Most people do not realize how much he knows because of the
down-to-earth way he speaks. But he answers emails in a 24-hour
turn-a-round and actively participates in his newsgroup to the
tune of 20 or more posts a day. He has a tremendous amount of
information and is happy to provide it for Real-World
investors.
The gurus cannot make the deals for you. You need to acquire
a solid knowledge base first. Steve’s courses seem to do that
for the people. What is important to his students and gets him
a high ranking is the continued support by one means or another
that he provides.
Steve provides a concise “How To” on the subject and his
course content is the most comprehensive most of them have ever
come across and courses are not just teasers to get you to buy
something bigger, better, and more expensive.
Just keep in mind that any real estate program typically
requires a large amount of leverage (borrowing money) and risk.
While leverage greatly accelerates your gains on the way up, it
also accelerates your losses on the way down.
